Among the Mayas, the Sun is associated with two distinct entities. By day, he is identified with the flower with four petals, Kinich Ahau. When night comes, he becomes the Jaguar God, the most feared animal in the jungle.

The "Mayan Sun" model displays a pattern reminiscent of spiral shapes in pre-Columbian art. The gems used can be round or oval, from 20mm in diameter.
